iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max to launch next month

Apple is set to introduce its new iPhone 17 lineup at a launch event next month. Although the Cupertino-based tech giant has not yet sent out invites, it is expected to launch in early September this time too, like every year.

There are only a few weeks left and leaks and rumors have already created a lot of buzz. The most talked about this time are the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Let’s find out what’s new in these premium models.

Design:
According to leaks, Apple may ditch the titanium frame this time and return to an aluminum frame. The back panel will have a half-aluminum and half-glass finish, which will also increase durability and will also make wireless charging possible.

There could also be a change in the camera design – instead of the squared island, there could now be a large rectangular bump with a triple-camera setup.

Speaking of colors, there could also be a new orange color option this time around, while black, white, gray, and dark blue will also be available.

Display:

The 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch display sizes on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will remain the same. But this time around, we can also find an anti-reflective coating (like the Samsung Galaxy), which should improve outdoor visibility.

The Dynamic Island could be made a bit smaller, but the ProMotion technology could now come to all iPhones, not just the Pro models.

Processor:
These models will come with the new A19 Pro chip, which is based on TSMC’s 3nm process. RAM is also expected to increase to 12GB (last year’s iPhone 16 had 8GB).

In addition to the performance boost, Apple could also offer a vapor chamber cooling system, which should improve heat dissipation and reduce thermal throttling.

Battery:
This time, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a 5,000mAh battery, which is larger than the 4,676mAh of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Both Pro models may support reverse wireless charging (7.5W) for the first time, as well as 45W wired fast charging and 25W wireless charging, which will also be possible with third-party chargers.

Camera:

The entire iPhone 17 series will get an upgraded 24MP front camera, which is much better than the 12MP of the last generation. This will improve both image quality and crop flexibility.

The telephoto lens is now 48MP (previously 12MP), meaning all three cameras on the Pro models – wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto – will be 48MP.

Along with this, the Pro models will also get 8K video recording and dual-video recording (simultaneous from both the front and rear).
